Biography:

Bhavna Sharma is a postdoctoral fellow in the Natural Materials and Structures group at the University of Cambridge. She holds degrees in Structural engineering (Ph.D. 2010, M.S. 2006), Architectural History (M.A. 2003) and Architecture (B.S. 2001). Her research focus is on the use of structural and engineered bamboo for construction. She is interested in the intersection of sustainable design, engineering, and development. Bhavna is a College Teaching Associate for undergraduate engineers at Sidney Sussex College, where she supervises in engineering mechanics and structures.
