Biography

Catherine Tilley is a doctoral student working on industrial sustainability under the supervision of Professor Steve Evans.  Her focus is on decision-making in companies, with a particular interest in the ways in which decision-making processes support or hinder strategies for environmental and social sustainability.  

Catherine joined the IfM from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) where she was Director of Education, and she is extremely interested in the role education plays in driving industrial sustainability.  Prior to this, she spent 14 years at McKinsey & Company, where she held a series of posts, including working as a leader of the global Organisation Practice, and as Operations Director for the Strategy & Trend Analysis Centre. Between 2010 and 2012, Catherine led McKinsey’s European research function, including establishing a substantial Knowledge Centre in Wroclaw, Poland. Additionally, Catherine was extremely active as faculty for McKinsey’s educational programmes.

She holds an MA degree from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Manchester Business School.
