Biography

Jake leads CISL’s efforts with business, government and finance leaders to build a sustainable economy. Architect of the Rewiring the Economy vision, he is responsible for CISL’s business platforms enabling leaders to find system-level solutions to sustainability problems, and put them into practice with partners and peers.

Jake previously led the Sustainable Development Commission’s team on wellbeing where he was a senior adviser on education, health and transport and nominated for Civil Service Awards in 2009 and 2010. Prior to this Jake worked with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership’s Director to refocus its work on sustainability leadership, drawing on his background in international conservation and development with the UN and others in India, Kenya, Lebanon, Bahamas, Guyana and Uganda. This built on a track record of engineering research at the University of Oxford and short spells in the private sector.

Jake is a Governor of a large secondary school in Cambridgeshire, sits on the Socially Responsible Investment Advisory Board of Sarasin & Partners LLP, and is Chairman of a start-up serving the energy needs of low-income customers in Northern Uganda.
