Biography

Dr Maria Abreu is University Lecturer in Land Economy. Her research covers urban economics, economic development, labour markets and innovation policy. She has worked as a consultant for the European Commission, the World Bank, the UK’s Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA), and the Department for Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) of Northern Ireland. Prior to coming to to Cambridge she worked for the World Bank in the areas of poverty, education and health, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
