Project title: Geological and geotechnical properties of Quaternary sediments in the English South Midlands.

Simon's PhD will investigate Quaternary processes and their effect on the geological and geotechnical properties of the ground that influence its behaviour. He will investigate the variability of these properties and their relationship to geological ground models in an area of the English South Midlands.

The work is jointly supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and Arup. It is being undertaken whilst on a leave of absence and with the support of the British Geological Survey (BGS).
